Want to be signed with Cassus Records?
Please take the time to read this before applying.
The nifty thing about being an indie record label is that we don’t have ridiculous qualifications to be one of our artists. Our application process is incredibly easy. Let me explain.
I’m Paul Cassarly, the owner of Cassus Records LLC. I started this label because I’m a trumpet player, producer, and entrepreneur. I’ve always known that I always wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself and develop my own music career. I’ve performed around the U.S. when I was in “The Commandant’s Own” U.S. Marine Drum & Bugle Corps (including a performance with the New York Philharmonic), published several singles, produced a few songs with other artists, and even after all of this I came to understand one thing:
Signing up with a major record label is darn near impossible.
Contrary to popular belief, artists who sign up with a record label don’t start making money right away. Rather, it’s a complicated and grueling process for the producers, engineers, executives, and everyone else behind the scenes that makes your talent exposed to the world. That is, unless we use the power of the internet!
Cassus Records LLC is my partner company to Cassus Media LLC, a digital marketing company dedicated to promoting individuals and organizations online. Using this momentum, we will work together to boost your career online, sell merch for your personal brand, and help you make money with your music. We’ll do this through the use of popular media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Vimeo, among others.
Here’s how it works.
When you apply to be a Cassus Records artist, we’ll need some information from you, including the cliche “demo” that you would expect to submit. After all, we need to know that our efforts marketing you to the world will be worth our time and money. We’re investing in your future, and you need to not only have talent but be absolutely serious about becoming famous. You will submit this after we have a scheduled meeting.
Here’s a question you’ve probably always wanted to know: how will we make money? Well that’s easy – through merchandise sales (think t-shirts, hoodies, keychains, etc.), ticket sales if you choose to tour (you don’t have to, but you’ll end up making very little income from just merch), and digital music sales (keep in mind that with music consumption being the way it is today, only a small piece of the revenue we generate together will come from this – it’s just the way it is).
“So, where do I start?”
Set up an appointment using the scheduling tool below. I will then be able to contact you at a date and time that’s best for you. As the owner of two companies, I’m sure you can understand that I’m a little busy – however, I will make time for you! If you can’t make your meeting with me, simply cancel it from the confirmation email that you’ll receive.
Let’s take this journey together.
I’m excited to help you get your career started with Cassus Records. If you’re a good fit for our label, be prepared to invest lots of time and energy working on your music. Becoming a successful musician starts with a dream, working with a talented team to accomplish your goals, and most important of all deciding that you truly want to be a success in the music industry. I’m excited to be a part of your journey!
